The 9 Beans and A Burrito Foundation was created on the principles of family, friendship, education, culture, and religion. We apply these principles and our efforts, through active involvement in our communities to improve our society. The Foundation's primary focus is to provide college scholarships to students meeting the qualifications of need. The organization also participates in other charitable youth activities.
REQUIREMENTS
Two scholarships in the amount of $1000 will be awarded for the Fall 2011/Spring 2012 semesters. This scholarship will be awarded in two installments of $500 per semester. The second installment for the Spring 2012 semester is contingent on the recipient maintaining a cumulative 3.0 GPA. He/she must be a high school graduating senior or currently enrolled college student continuing with plans to attend a junior college or a four-year college/university. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 is required. This scholarship is open to all full time students in any field of study.
APPLICATION CHECKLIST
A completed scholarship application consists of all of the following:
- The application form filled out completely
- Two letters of recommendation: one from your current school (teacher, counselor, etc.) and another from an adult who can attest to the character of the applicant (church, employer, etc.)
- High school and/or college transcripts
- One page personal statement, double spaced, addressing the topics of financial need and extra curricular activities
The above material must be received by April 16, 2011 (postmarked no later than) at the address shown on the application form. The Scholarship Committee may conduct personal interviews at a later date. Award notification is provided by mail and phone correspondence. All other notifications are by email.
